Boxing and kickboxing are forms of martial arts that offer a challenging workout while combining elements of strength training and cardio. Within the STRIKE collection at Life Time, members can take a series of classes to reap physical, mental, and emotional benefits.

“Whether you’re looking to work out some stress or you just want a high-intensity exercise session, the hard-hitting punches and kicks you’ll perform in a STRIKE class might be just what you need,” says Christine Chapman (@big.chris.energy), STRIKE instructor and studio leader at Life Time in Edina, Minn. “These classes are high energy, challenging, and fun. You’ll bring out your inner fighter!”

What’s the Difference Between Boxing and Kickboxing?

While both boxing and kickboxing are rooted in martial arts and have similar names, there are key differences between the practices. Boxing involves upper-body moves — there are no kicks or knee movements. Kickboxing features a wider range of martial arts moves, including kicks and knee strikes. Note: There is no contact in any of the STRIKE classes.

If you’re looking to add boxing or kickboxing to your routine, we’re breaking down the three Life Time classes to help you decide which one best fits your goals and preferences.
